Robert Bruce and The Spider / The king and the Spider

Once there lived a very famous king in Scotland. His name was Robert Bruce. He loved his country and his subjects very much. He was a great warrior and a true patriot. He was ready to sacrifice his life to defend the freedom of his kingdom. His subjects also loved and admired his courage. He was very determined and self confidence. He never submitted to frustration.

Once the English attacked the kingdom of Robert Bruce to subdue him. He fought bravely against his enemy. His fierce resistance could not withhold his enemy and he was defeated. Bruce regained his self-confidence and tried again and again to regain his kingdom but failed. Repeated failures turned him far away from his enemy and none could trace him out.

One morning, while in deep frustration, he cought sight of a spider in the wall off the cave. It was trying to reach the ceiling with the help of its silken thread to complete the cobweb. The spider tried again and again to go up but dropped down every time. But it was relentless in its effort. After every failure, it made the same effort with regained energy. It failed six time but it again tried for the seventh time. This time the spider succeeded and its success refueled Bruce with new energy and hope.

Robert Bruce collected and reorganized his scattered force. He triggered and electrified them with an indomitable spirit and energy. Bruce attacked the English and routed them with an indomitable defeat. Thus Bruce regained his power and position as a great king and worrior of Scotland .
