A Farmer and his quarrelling sons / Unity is Strength

Once upon a time, there lived a wealthy and old farmer. He had three sons. They had no good relation with one another. They were disobedient and always quarreled among themselves. So, the farmer was very anxious about their future after his death. At last, he made a plan to teach his unruly sons how to live in peace and unity.

One day, the old farmer called his sons together. He told his wife to fetch some rope and a few sticks. When his wife collected those things he asked his eldest son to bind the sticks together. He bound them into a bundle. Then the old man ordered him to break the bundle. The eldest son tried hard again and again but could not break it. Then the old man asked all his sons to break the bundle of sticks one by one.. They tried their level best but none of them was successful. Then the old man ordered his eldest son again to untie the bundle of sticks. When he did it, he asked them to take one stick each. Then he ordered them to break their individual sticks separately.
This time each of the sons broke the sticks very easily. Rising his hand, the old man said

My sons take a lesson from it. You are just like these sticks. Iff you remain united and don't quarrel, no body will be able to do any harm to you . On the other hand, if you quarrel among yourselves, you lose strength and your enimies will easily do you harm. So, live in peace.
The sons then promised to follow their father's advice.
